AMARILLO, TX , USA , June 10, 2011 – This past Friday’s “Battle of the Panhandle: Amarillo vs. Dallas” event put on by 24/7 and promoter Fabian Butler at the Azteca Music Hall proved to be a showcase of Mixed Martial Arts action for the West Texas fans in attendance.

“There were a lot of good fights,” Butler told the Amarillo Globe-News. “Everything was quick. There were no boring fights. That’s what fans want to see. I’m impressed. I’m happy for the fans. If the fans are happy, I’m happy. That’s what it’s all about.”

With a strong assortment of fighters spearheaded by the crew from Octagon MMA, Dallas won out on this night over their Amarillo counterparts with almost a clean sweep of victories. Daniel “Jacare” Almeida, Russell Brewer, and Charles Byrd led the way for Dallas with a trifecta of first round submission victories.
